Wayne County Preschool and Kindergarten Enrollment
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to announce that enrollment is now open for the Universal Pre-K Program and Kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year.
In addition to submitting the application, the following documents are required for enrollment and should be submitted at a later date:
Certificate of Live Birth
This certificate verifies your child’s age eligibility for the program. It must be issued by the state in which your child was born. County birth certificates cannot be accepted. Certificates can be ordered from the Office of Vital Statistics. If you have questions regarding your child’s birth certificate, please contact me using the information below.
Social Security Card
Immunization Record
Must be on file prior to the first day of school.
Recent Well Child Visit
The visit should occur between August 2025 and August 2026 and must be completed by a physician. Health check forms may be used as proof of the visit.
Recent Dental Visit
Documentation of a dental exam completed by a dentist between August 2025 and August 2026.
Required documents can be dropped off at any preschool classroom location, elementary school, or mailed to my attention.

Thank you for your interest in our Universal Pre-K Program. We look forward to working with you in the upcoming school year. Additional letters will be mailed later with details about preschool registration dates, acceptance letters with classroom assignments, and orientation sessions. Acceptance letters for Preschool will be mailed by the end of July 2026.
Our schools will contact you directly regarding Kindergarten registration times and dates.
