We want to provide an update regarding the Town of Wayne water advisory impacting East Lynn Elementary School, Wayne Elementary School, Wayne Middle School, and Wayne High School.
Wayne County Schools has closed these schools for the remainder of this week. At this time, our plan is to reopen these schools on Monday and return to the regular Wayne County Schools schedule. Please note that this is dependent upon the county’s operating status, as a significant winter storm is expected this weekend. If county-wide weather conditions require a delayed opening or closure on Monday, we will follow our normal county schedule announcements.
In preparation to reopen the impacted schools, we will have the following measures in place:
· Drinking water available for students and staff
· Portable handwashing stations inside the buildings
· Potable water in each cafeteria to support all food service operations
· Water deliveries to each school to support custodial cleaning and sanitation needs
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work with local officials and partners to ensure we can operate schools safely and responsibly. We will continue to provide updates as needed, including any weather-related announcements for Monday.
