On November 15th, United Way of the River Cities partnered with Wayne County Schools and 4 other counties to participate in an event called "Read Across the River Cities". Parents, family friends, local business partners, former teachers, and central office employees signed up to read 1 to 2 chapters of the book "Charlotte's Web" by E.B. White to every 3rd grade classroom in Wayne County. Every 3rd grade student was given their own copy of "Charlotte's Web" to take home and read. Wayne County Schools would like to thank of our our read aloud volunteers for making this event special. Also, Wayne County Schools would like to say a special thanks to United Way of the River Cities for purchasing all of the books and organizing the event.
