JOCELYN RONEY - March 2024 7th Grade Student of the Month - She is always ready to work and participate. She is easy to talk to, is always friendly, and joking around with her peers. She isn't afraid to ask questions which opens the floor to others.
DERRICK SMITH - March 2024 6th Grade Student of the Month - Derrick brings positive energy to the classroom as soon as he walks in. He is a leader and a resilient student who is always working towards his goals.
HOPE SLONE - March 2024 6th Grade Student of the Month - Hope is a responsible student who is always doing her very best in the classroom. She is diligent, attentive, and organized. We enjoy having her in class.
Families: This letter will be coming home today detailing Wayne County's plan for the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th. We will have school that day on a normal schedule. Tomorrow through April 5th is Spring Break! We will see everyone back at school on the 8th!

We had a great showing yesterday at the Regional Social Studies Fair in Mason County. All of our participants placed! Our first place winners will be moving on to the State Competition on April 10th in Charleston!

Our eighth-grade students took a trip to the Spring Valley CTE last week to see the programs available to them in high school. There are currently 5 programs they can start in as freshmen. We have also added a PDF with more information under Documents on our website!
Please come out to our Spring Possum Palooza Craft & Vendor Fair THIS SATURDAY from 9 am - 3 pm! There will be over 30 vendors as well as food trucks. Weather permitting, it will be outside. If not, it will be inside the Kindergarten gym complex.
We are so proud of our buffalo bots!! These kids have worked so hard all year!! They have grown so much as coders, builders, and drivers. They can trouble shoot and help others. They all just work so hard. 🖤🤍 They competed in the WV State Robotics Competition over the last few days. These kids are pretty amazing!!

Students will bring home a paper tonight about our annual climate survey. This form does NOT need to be returned unless you DO NOT want your student to participate in the survey. If you DO NOT want them to participate, please complete the form & return to the office by March 22.
Today our students were informed about our American Heart Association event that we are holding at the end of this month. Our goal this year is to raise $1,500 for AHA. Hoops for Heart is a 3 vs. 3 basketball tournament that will be held on March 28th. Students pay $5 to play ($15 for a team) and $3 to watch the games. Ms. K. Davis's Math classes were challenged to memorize the digits of Pi. We celebrated the day by eating pie and Giovanni's pizza. Lena Staten won the big Pie Prize for memorizing 34 digits after 3.14. Happy Pi Day!!
