Please see the attached information about the annual Academy Days. If your student is interested in possibly joining the military after high school, this is a great event to expose them to the opportunities available! The closest one is on September 20th at South Charleston High School.

We would love to have every child at school every day, but we know kids get sick and emergencies come up. If they do, please use our form to submit your excuses!! https://bms.wayn.k12.wv.us/o/bm/forms/19043

We are still in need of volunteers for events coming up in October. There are 2 programs we run with 7th and 8th grade students that teach them financial education through a budget simulation (Reality Store & Get a Life) as well as our Annual Career Day which will be on Friday, October 24th this year. If you are able to volunteer at any of these events, please use the QR codes on the pictures to sign up! Thanks in advance for all willingness to volunteer - our students look forward to these events each year, and we could not do them without you!

Tomorrow is a day full of fun on Buffalo Creek! Come out for a yard sale at the school from 9-1 and then movie night at the football field at 6 pm!

We are so excited to share that we have had AMAZING attendance the last two days of school! Today, we had 99.2% attendance. One of our schoolwide goals this year is our attendance rate, and we are off to a great start! Let's keep this up!! Attached to this post is some information about attendance, our attendance rewards, and a newsletter from the school counselor for the month.

Students are bringing home a stack of paperwork this evening. Please go through it together and return what needs to be returned. Attached is a graphic that lists all the paperwork and the details about each one. Also, we collect a fee for our lockers and agendas each year - this fee goes towards our annual locker maintenance and the printing of our agendas. This can be sent to school any time this week using cash or a check written out to Buffalo Middle School. We had an amazing first day, and we are so excited for this school year!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone in the morning! Drop off starts at 7:05 in the gravel lot, and the tardy bell rings at 7:25. We're excited for a new school year together!

IMPORTANT: Please read! We are still working on student schedules for this school year. What your students are seeing on Schoology are NOT FINAL! We make changes daily on these schedules. The paper schedules the students will receive on Tuesday will be the official schedule for the year. Please do not contact the school for schedule changes because your children do not have classes with all of their friends - we do not make schedule changes based on grouping with friends. Students have multiple opportunities throughout the school day to hang out with their friends, including related arts and lunch rotations. There are several factors that we have to take into consideration to determine the schedules, and it is not possible to accommodate every request made. We do the best we can to provide our students with the best schedule for their education and their mental wellbeing. If for some reason a schedule does need changed, all requests must go through Mrs. Ryder. Thank you for understanding!

We are searching for parent and community members to be included on this year's LSIC committee. Please fill out this form if you are interested: https://forms.office.com/r/q8m51EPU5m
