8th Grade high school PEP Plans are complete! Your student should be bringing them home and getting your signature on them. We need these returned to school ASAP! If you have any questions, please let me know!
IMPORTANT!! Bus #2102 (Chad Wickline) is held up behind road construction on Buffalo Creek. There will be delays in the students getting home. If you would like to pick your child up, that is fine. However, the bus will be here but it may be significantly late.
Today our 8th grade students were able to participate in the Get a Life Program. Please ask them about this tonight. They should be bringing a paper home that explains the program as well as some savings accounts to help prep for postsecondary training/education opportunities!
HOOPS for HEART! We need more teams to participate. There are 3 on a team. It is $5 each. Friday, February 17, 2023. Please encourage your child to form a team. If you would just like to donate and are writing a check, please write the check to Hoops for Heart.
THESE GUYS ARE ON FIRE!!!! Kayden Maynard and Isaac Maynard competed in a Wrestling Match this weekend to qualify for State. Out of 11 Counties, Kayden received 1st Place and Isaac received 2nd Place. They are advancing to STATE!!
Bella Mueller January 2023 Student of the Month - Bella works hard in all of her classes. She is ahead on MATHia due to her hard work. She is kind and respectful and quick with a compliment or greeting for her teachers and classmates.
Chrissy Gecsey January 2023 Student of the Month - She is undoubtedly one of the kindest students we have. She eagerly helps her peers and is always ready with a positive word or gesture. She works to put a smile on everyone's face. She is the first to volunteer to help.
Jace Meredith January 2023 Student of the Month - He is ready for class and makes us smile daily. He is the MATH student but works hard in ELA too. He helps anyone and takes the time to ensure they understand. He has even helped the teacher understand a problem or two!
Addison Kilgore January 2023 Student of the Month - She is a respectful student who is always on task and ready to work. Her effort does not go unnoticed as she goes above and beyond in the classroom. She is always on her best behavior and is a wonderful role model to her peers.

He is diligent to complete his work on time. He is always willing to help the teacher & his classmates. He participates in class and adds to the discussion. He really enjoys discussions in Social Studies.

Vinson Lady Tigers Softball tryouts will be Feb 27th and Feb 28th outside at CK Community Park's Field by CK Middle School at 4:30- until dark. (Weather Permitting)- if bad weather occurs tryouts will be inside CKMS gym.
We will have flex days the week February 20-25 pending boys middle school basketball tournament times- Flex Days TBA when that schedule is released.

Just a reminder that in order to access Schoology from home, all you have to do is go to the following link: https://www1.wayneschoolswv.org/tech/sso.php and click on Schoology. Students' login information is the username they log into their school computers with + @stu.k12.wv.us (which is their school email) and then their password is the one they use every day to log into their laptops at school.
