Our annual Hoops for Heart activity is tomorrow. Students can bring $3 to watch, $1 for the half court competition, and money for concessions. This will be an all-morning event. Tomorrow is also an early release day with dismissal beginning at 12:30 pm.
Congratulations to our students who have been selected for the Huntington Museum of Art Portfolio Exhibition and the Arts Alive event. All students will be coming home with letters detailing the information for these events. We also want to thank Mr. Decker for his support of students and the work taken to enter students into these art shows!
REMINDER: Bogg Bag orders are due TOMORROW! They come in light grey or black with the Bison logo for $40 each. We have included a picture for size reference only - the grey for our order is lighter than the grey displayed in the pictures. This is a fundraiser for our school! Money can be submitted using cash or checks.
SULLEY COLLINS - 8th Grade March Student of the Month - Sulley has a great personality and is always ready to lend a helping hand. He is an influential leader among his peers. He has a very kind heart and truly cares about others.
ROXY HIGNUTT - 8th Grade March Student of the Month - Roxy does her best in everything she attempts. She is not afraid to ask questions and is very personable.
JACE HAGER - 7th Grade March Student of the Month - Jace is a model student who comes to class prepared and ready to work. He participates in various clubs and sports within his school. He is always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needs it.
EMELIA HARRIS - 7th Grade March Student of the Month - She is dedicated and hard-working. She is excellent at collaborating with peers and working with teams. She participates and excels in extracurricular activities within her community.
SHELBY SMITH - 6th Grade March Student of the Month - Shelby shows us daily that she strives for success. Regardless of the subject or task, she is ready to put in the effort.
CASE LOVEJOY - 6th Grade March Student of the Month - Case demonstrates leadership in all areas and sets positive examples for his peers. He is the kid who can make anyone smile.
Special Olympics Track and Field - if your student plans to participate with Special Olympics (athlete OR hugger), please send $10 for t-shirts ASAP! Permission slips will be coming home at a later time. The event is taking place on April 23rd.

The RAZE Bison Crew visited the state capital last week for Tobacco Free Day. They were able to tour the capitol grounds as well as participate in some activities and hear from great speakers all while promoting a tobacco-free lifestyle!

We are excited to announce that our Purple Star Award Designation has been renewed for 2024-2027. To celebrate, we are participating in WVDE's Month of the Military Child Spirit Week next week, April 7-11. REMINDER: Applications are due to the school counselor by March 31st!! These programs require multiple steps to apply including teacher recommendations and recommendations from the school principal and superintendent. The WV Governor's Schools offers free summer programs for students in 7-11th grades. There are 3 programs specifically for middle school students: STEM Institute at WVU (7th), STEM Institute at Green Bank Observatory (8th), and Literacy in Charleston (8th). Our annual Hoops for Heart event will be held on April 11th! It’s a fun-filled day where students get to play against each other or join the audience to cheer on their favorite teams! Students will be sent home informational flyers today in case they missed the announcement Monday. If a student is wanting to play or watch, they will need to sign up online with the QR codes. If a student has a question, have them visit with Ms. Davis during their Intramurals.
